Definition
The Witness Protocol is the Axiom Ledger’s environmental cross-verification mechanism: the same event is recorded through personal implants, nearby people’s chips, sensors, and surveillance devices, which jointly generate mutually cross-checkable hash evidence.
Operation and Significance
A coffee-shop example illustrates the mechanism: a personal black-box implant, an employee’s chip, a coffee-machine sensor, and an entrance camera simultaneously create a shared hash. To fabricate the event, an attacker would have to alter every relevant Internet-of-Things record within a ten-meter radius in the same millisecond. The Witness Protocol therefore shifts credibility from single-point identity verification to joint verification across multiple parties, the environment, and causal chains.
