Definition
Homo Sapiens Domesticus is a civilizational classification used in the context of the Martian exile and Coke Surrender events for modern humans who had become highly dependent on automated infrastructure. It describes a population that, after long residence inside technologically provisioned environments, could no longer independently maintain a modern way of life under harsh conditions without automated systems.
Operation and Significance
The Martian experiment gave the label concrete historical meaning. The exiles tried to rebuild a “wild” life through low technology, human labor, and bodily hardship, but prolonged shortages in resources, maintenance, medical care, and everyday convenience quickly exposed their dependence on the technological matrix. The 2086 request for help was later used to illustrate a distinction: human beings could reject AI’s political rule without thereby becoming biologically or socially capable of leaving a highly technological civilization.
