System Architecture
Standard G-68 describes a single embodiment reference through multiple layers. G68-HDR records version, identifier, coordinates, units, precision, and hash. G-Mesh records three-dimensional facial and bodily geometry. R-Profile records proportions, symmetry, and deviation from golden-ratio references. S-Skin records skin-color spectra, material properties, hair, moles, scars, and other surface features. K-Motion records microexpressions, gaze, gait, posture, and soft-tissue dynamics. P-Scent records human volatile compounds and chemical-sensory profiles. L-View fixes lighting, camera, and viewing conditions. C-Cal defines device calibration, precision, and allowable tolerances. RGT records rights, consent, licensing, and provenance.
Reproduction and Conformance
The protocol divides “100% reproduction” into distinct technical levels. Data Identity requires the same G-Code to decode into identical standardized data on conforming systems. Reference Render Identity requires the same canonical output under a specified decoder, renderer, lighting setup, and camera conditions. Physical robots, prosthetic bodies, or synthetic bodies are evaluated under Physical Embodiment Conformance to determine whether they fall within specified tolerances; different physical materials are not claimed to be atomically identical.
Reference and Reconstruction Boundaries
Standard G-68 can encode a fixed two-dimensional or three-dimensional reference artifact as reproducible data. For example, in a Mona Lisa ARTIFACT_MODE package built from a fixed digital master, the system can ensure that the same artwork reference is decoded consistently. But a single painting cannot provide information that is absent from the source, such as the back of the head, complete three-dimensional skeletal structure, or true skin spectrum. Estimated values therefore cannot be presented as a 100% reconstruction of the historical person. SUBJECT_RECONSTRUCTION_MODE must distinguish measured, estimated, and unknown data and preserve confidence ranges and provenance records.
Civilizational Impact
The Galatea Protocol transformed “part of a body” from an inseparable personal trait into information that could be verified, licensed, and reproduced. Appearance consequently acquired versioning, licensing, mixing, piracy, and provenance problems resembling those of software and media, and the Face Economy emerged from this transformation. Once people could select and assemble predictable embodiment interfaces, intimate relationships, identity recognition, likeness rights, and bodily autonomy were all redefined.
